He began his address by drawing responses from the audience of
what Talent is and described talent as comprising of the skills,
competency as well as attitude. He elaborated that in the
volatile economic time of today and with the presence of
attractive job profiles it was getting difficult to get
employees stay and get involved in their work. What is required
during such times is to identify who really was the critical
talent and direct programs to retain and engage such employees.
He elaborated on two philosophies that are deeply ingrained in
the Essar culture, first that of being Employee Engagement and
the second being Total Rewards Model. Both of these he believed
emphasised on customization of career paths of the employees by
taking into consideration their aspirations. Such a model that
takes care of the individual aspirations and connects it with
the organisations aspirations is effective in retaining and
engaging employees while also developing them. |
