Mr.ShashikanthJayaram, Head HR, TVS was one of the Panellist IIM Raipur’s FirstHR Confluence on August 25, 2012 (Theme: Managing Talent for Competitive Advantage: From Identifying and Acquiring Talent to its Retention).

In his speech on ‘Talent Spotting’ he busted the myth that ‘talent is after job’. He began by proclaiming that Talent will find its endorsement everywhere, the question is how can one develop self as talent, how is talent defind in the first place and how can one identify that talent.
 

He exhorted that talent cannot be define only in terms of skills and the attitude rather it is also the values that one carried with self. It is the match of personal values with the organisations value that provides opportunities for talent to express and develop itself.

He also pointed out that the issue before companies is not only who is staying with them for how long rather companies are looking at the relationship with its employees in terms of value additions that are made. As such he motivated the students to build up their skills, understand their core values and choose companies accordingly.
