The second day of the Orientation Program for the 1st Batch of
Fellow Program in Management (FPM) and 3rd Batch of Post
Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), started at IIM Raipur
Campus began with thestudents communicating with Swami
Satyarupandji, Ramakrishna Mission on the role of values and
ethics in the corporate world.
Swami Satyarupandjistressed on personal values and ethics that
serve as a navigator to individual in their daily life. With
both serving as a foundation for individual life and societyit
serves as a motivator for others to join hands with the
possessor of such values. He further stressed that ethics and
values in business become a bigger concern and responsibility
where the world nowadays is dominated by greed and personal
selfish interests. In such a case it becomes important for
business leaders and managers to safeguard interest of people.
He thus recommended the students to contribute to a corporate
culture where ethics are visible at each level and that a
manager should treat his employees, customers, shareholders,
government, media and society in an honest and fair manner.
He/she should know the difference between right or wrong and
choose what is right which is the foundation of ethical decision
making. |
